Hi, my name is Bharat Bedia. I am just some one who loves running!

After spending much of my life very obese at 110kg (1.71m tall), In Jan2003, I decided to "do something". I changed my lifestyle and lost about 40kg in eight months. I then started running in Aug03 as a novice heel-striker and did my first race - a 10k - in Sep03 within 53mins.

This excited me so much it was obvious that running was in my blood. However, as a conventional heel-striker with a history of back-problems I could not train as my body would badly ache. There must be a better way. In Sep03 I converted to Pose method of running and everything just clicked into place. I was soon hitting very good mileage and paces with effortless running.

I did very well because in Mar2004 I ran ReadingHM in 1:28. I was set for storming Flora London Marathon 2004 debut, but then tragedy struck. I badly injured my back from shifting boxes.

I sat on the injury bench from Mar 2004 to Feb2005 due to dreadful lower back problems - forcing me to defer my FLM 2004 place to 2005. I was truly frustrated.

However, I am not one to give up - I slowly got better. Then with 6weeks of training and only 135miles of total runs done I ran FLM05. This idiocy meant that at Mile9 I popped my right calf and I had to hobble the remaining 17 miles. Nevertheless, I was very pleased with 3hr42m finish time. Though I have now run a few more marathons and my PB is now 3:16.

Coming back from long-term injury has made me realise that Pose Method of running is simple but certainly not easy. Although I did lose my Pose abilities, through determined effort - they have come back.

I have now discovered a new passion, that is for teaching Pose. Teaching has helped me understand my Pose skills (& faults) just as much as helping others. If you'd like me to help you then please email me at bly1968@gmail.com.

Keep on Posin'

Bharat "nrg-b" Bedia

PS: Run without fear.
