JACK BECKER - 3:21 Marathon PR by Dr.Romanov
I never wrote anything about one particular person, but man, Jack deserves it. I would like to add my own congratulations to those of many others who were happy to find out about his racing performance. It's not just an incredible PR of someone who made his journey to the marathon. It was a discovery of the man who showed us an approach which is brand new for the age group competitive runners.

I began learning Pose in November of 2003, after a long and fruitless search for a method of teaching running technique. Like many Pose runners, I read an article on Pose in a fitness magazine that led me to the Post Tech Website. I read the book and watched the DVD, but I waited to my off season for any practical work on technique. There was never any doubt in my mind that the technique was what I was looking, and as soon as my season ended, I took off my stability shoes, threw away my orthotics, and started running barefoot as I did as a child. I have never looked back.
My expectation for Pose was for a technique that would prevent injuries and allow me to run as long as a I had a desire to. Pose has exceeded beyond that expectation, and as a bonus I have been able to run more effectively with success. The marathon is my preferred activity. I have been fortunate to have participated in the Boston Marathon along with being able to run personal bests with the Pose technique at the marathon distance and other distances.
Unlike many of the coaches I do not make my living in a sport related field such as coaching, personal training, or medical related fields. I am representative of the average working runner who considers running more than a recreational activity. I was born in 1946 with average athletic ability, and I am a example that Pose is applicable to those of all ages and skill levels who have an open mind, desire to learn, and willingness to work.
I have been an active member of the members forum since returning from my first Pose clinic in December of 2003, and I plan to continue as an active contributor as well as coaching runners who are committed to running Pose.
