About 25 years after I first started running, I decided to change my running style to become a better and more efficient runner. Uptil then I was happily heelstriking, doing a couple of races and triatlons each year and completing the Rotterdam marathon in 2004.

Being an ambitious, recreational, basically self-coached runner, I always tried to get the best out of it. I never paid any specific attention to the technical issues involved in running though. Now and then I was injured, which I thought was just part of the deal. “Too much too soon, old running shoes, lack of strength etc.”. Could always think of something to blame. My “Dr. in sports” told me I had reached my physical limits and I shouldn’t force things any further. He adviced me to put my focus on better biking and swimming and forget about running goals and ambitions. Being impressed by the great “stuff” I read in the books of Dr. Romanov (“Pose Method of running” and “The Training Essays”) I decided to attend a clinic with Nicolas as well. This all made just so much sense, that it left me only one option; re-start my running career and give Poserunning a serious try.

I didn’t regret that decision still. Running Pose enables me to run much easier and faster, even without putting more mileage on the program. My overall bodystrength improved and my hip injury (that seemed to be chronic and kept me away from being ambitious) disappeared. And last but not least, thanks to Pose Method, running became much more interesting and fun.

As a Pose coach and physiotherapist I look forward to helping people to perform better and run injury-free. Also, I want to help people to build up a strong mind and get rid of the (mental) barriers that are so often in the way to performing on a higher level.
