- Pose MethodŽ Certified Running Coach Level I (2006)
|
My running career started at the age of forty, shortly after the birth of my third child. I started training for my first sprint distance triathlon. With a limited time schedule, I wanted to make the most use of my time and run injury-free, with enough energy left to care for my family. I was fortunate that my trainer and friend, Valerie Hunt, had been studying the Pose Method. She shared her knowledge of the Pose Method with me. I was able to attend my first Pose Clinic in March of 2004. With this experience, I was convinced the Pose technique was for me. Valerie and I worked on the drills and the strength conditioning tirelessly.
Using the Pose Method, I am now running injury-free and faster. I just completed the 3M Half Marathon with an average 8:55 pace, far better than my first attempt at 10:50. All of my times from 5K's to triathlons continue to improve.
With the help of the Pose Method I have changed my perception on my ability to perform. I now use Pose to help with my running, swimming, and biking
I am always amazed when watching my young children run. They run effortlessly and without fear; in perfect Pose. I hope to spread the word about the Pose Method as a teaching tool for young children. Children can retain their perfect form. I look forward to working with children who want to learn how to "run".
