SPECIALTY:

I believe that the Pose model of running technique and the role of gravity is one of the most important discoveries of the 20th century, along with the role of running in human evolution. Simple as it may seem, the implications on health and quality of life are enormous. Bramble and Lieberman have described how evolution has adapted homo sapiens uniquely for long distance running. The Pose Method of Running describes how running works and how we can improve the technique, after losing it due to the “comforts” of the industrialized world.

As a child I used to love running. As an adult needing to recover some fitness I tried getting back to running again, for fond memories and the simplicity of outdoor exercise anywhere, but I always broke down with knee pain. I tried all the other published methods of efficient running, but concluded towards the end of 2008 that Pose was the only one comprehensive enough to help me.

After applying the Pose Method I have rediscovered the pure joy of running, and I feel passionate about enabling others to do the same. At age 50 I can run faster and longer than ever. I made many mistakes on the way, and would like to help others avoid them.

I’m also very interested in the research background of Pose and understanding more of the biomechanics.
