SPECIALTY: Evaluation and treatment of the injurred endurance athlete; especially Bone (stress fracture and osteoporosis)and joint related disorders. |
I am a physical therapist in State College, PA and work with the Penn State University Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic where running related
injuries make up a large percentage of our caseload. Additionally, I am a recreational triathlete and am passionate about empowering individuals of
all levels to reach their athletic and/or wellness potential.
I attended my first Pose Clinic in early 2004 and was most impressed with Nicolas. He has defined the tenents of efficient running technique and
described a straight forward curriculum for all runner's to achieve their optimal potential. Additionally, he instills the importance of improving
one's perception of running technique, consistent with the rules of nature, that truly enriches the running expereince.
My educational background includes a B.S. in physical therapy from Northwestern University, and a M.S. degree in orthopaedics from Georgia State University.
Additionally, I am board certified clinical specialist in orthpaedics from the American Physical Therapy Association and hold a certificate in mechanical diagnosis and treatment of the spine from the McKenzie Institute. I am interested in pursuing a line of research that includes adaptations to barefoot running and the prevention of running related injuries.
As a Level I Pose Instructor I look forward to having the opportunity to work with individuals one on one and/or to discuss issues related to running performance and injury prevention/rehabilitation.
