When I studied Sport Science in university I was hoping to get advanced knowledge about sports to help athletes, but I could not implement anything I learned there in the sports field. Instead of knowledge and understanding science gave me only doubts and uncertainties. Pose Method is much more scientific (based on a
foundation of philosophy, physics, general systems theory and psychology) and gives me tools and knowledge that I can immediately use in the sports field.

I discovered the benefits of Pose Method in 2003. After 2 months of practicing Pose I was able to run a 30 K race in 1:47:34. Along the way I almost beat my 15 K PB. That's where I realized the full potential of Pose running.
In 2004, I ran a sub 2:40 marathon with a training load of 30 miles per week. I was able to run easy and focused until 21 K. I had some difficulties at 25 K (for a few moments I doubted if I had done enough training but I could refocus on the action) and at 30 K I just went for it, without thinking. I started taking over people and kept my focus on technique, relaxing and pulling. I finished in 2:37:51 without hitting the wall. I ran a negative split (1:20-1:18). Except the winner (Robert Cheboror of Kenya who ran 2:06:22 with a ½ marathon split of 1:04:06), no one was able to do such a negative split. I also ran my fastest ½ marathon at that time in the second half of this race. I was able to do this because of a relatively good Pose technique (especially having a concept of how to run in your head was very helpful in the last 10 K) and the right state of mind.
In 2005 I have organized the first Pose Standard Clinic in the Netherlands. Working with Dr. Romanov was inspiring and learning the principles of Pose from first hand made everything much clearer for me. After that we formed a group of Pose enthusiasts and promoted Pose Method in multiple ways. To take Pose Method in the Netherlands to the next level we invited Dr. Romanov in March 2006 for a Standard Clinic and Coach Certification. Now, after a very fruitful, intense and even
more inspiring week, I am one of 3 Pose Certified Coaches in the Netherlands (together with Ruben Jongkind and Herman Lenferink). Dr. Romanov gave me a deeper understanding about how to improve performance through technique. I am here to share this knowledge with athletes of all levels in different sports.
I have competed in triathlon since 1993. My highlights (so far) were a 3rd place in my age group at European Championships Olympic distance in 2000 and completing the hardest Ironman distance race in the world (Embrun in the French Alps) in 2002 and 2003.

STUITEREND OF VALLEND OP PAD by Cors Van Den Brink
