SWITCHING TO POSE IN LESS THEN PERFECT CIRCUMSTANCES
There are lots of people coming to our forum and asking what to do when they don't have a luxury of stopping running completely, and taking some time off, for example some army guys, who cannot just stop running, because they have to do it 3 times a week with their battalion, or some high-schoolers, who train with their school team. So what would be my advice for people who want to start learning pose, and want to get on the right track, but can't stop running? How and where to start and how to go on?
Well, it is a problem to be obliged to continue your running as a mandatory exercise, voluntary or involuntary, it doesn’t matter, and try to change your way of running. These things do not go well together, usually. They are so much opposite to each other that we have to make a choice.
But, if we don’t have a choice, then what? So, you are asking how to be simultaneously a single and a married man. I guess, nobody has ever solved this problem in a positive way, but we can try…
There always exists a compromise and a question about its price. When you have no luxury of staying away from running, when you don’t want to run, then the question is what will the price be?
The smallest price to pay is to give your complete dedication, focus and your ability to learn quickly. It doesn’t look like a real solution, but it is the way out, which was repeatedly confirmed in history of humanity.
It is called survival.
The major rule of survival is to quickly adapt to the things that are helping you to survive or to quickly change your condition, state of the mind, your perception and the way you act, and interact with surrounding.
I call this ability the
skill development. So, if you accept the reality that nature doesn’t change to accommodate to your level of skill, then the only other choice remains that you have to change the level of your skill.
Yes, it is certainly a very stressful situation, when you are trying to kill two birds with one stone. You have to pay the price, as I mentioned above, but
this price is a bargain, compared to what your injuries and pain could bring you. So, you’ll have to make so much deeper commitment to follow the way of the action that it will take your entire being into this process.
There will be no time or space for other thoughts and feelings, but only what you need to do. Your focus must be on your performance to get to that tremendous level, which is usually accessed only by elite level athletes, but not ordinary people. This is what you have to realize, when you are thinking of trying to do this. I’ll support you with this decision all the way, but it’ll be you, who’ll have to do this action. Are you ready for it?
