BODY MOVEMENT ON EARTH
Here on Earth, there are rules and regulations that were "written" by Nature and were in effect way before Adam and Eve came around. Many of those "rules and regulations" have to do with
gravity and it's not a surprise, since gravity is the leading force in movement and in life. If
gravity didn't work the way it does - none of us, not even the planets in our solar system would be here, or at least not in that shape and way.
Is it not a puzzle that as powerful as gravity is, as omnipresent as it is and always been and most likely will be - it has not been factored in to human athletic activities? How crazy is it that humans have studied all their
muscles, bones, tendons and other parts, but completely overlooked a mighty force of gravity and its effect on
human movement? For as long as gravity is pinning us down - we might as well take notice, won't you agree?
Now that you are aware - things might seem so complicated, but the truth is that things just got better for you.
While human movement might feel and seem like a mystery - it is a maze only to the ones that ignore or are unaware of the work of gravity. Nowadays, that makes up a sad majority, but hopefully tomorrow that will be only a clueless few.
Considering gravity, human movement can be broken down into key poses. There are poses that transform energy into movement and there are motions in between. Karate anyone? If you focus on the key poses only - it's inevitable that you will be more efficient and better, if you are not wasting energy on unnecessary commotion. Instead you are delivering a targeted blow with all power focused in it - feel like Muhammad Ali for a second?
Considering gravity - human movement is nothing more but
change of support. When we move, we
change support from one foot to the other, when we run - we
change support from one foot to the other. When we
swim - we change support too, believe it or not. When we move - we simply change support. Eye opening isn't it?
A house without a proper foundation will eventually (if not immediately) fall apart. An athlete without a
proper technique is an aerialist without a safety cord - unless you're really, really good, you're doomed... A sports technique without gravity factored in - is a recipe for a disaster or simply ineffective bluh-bluh.
But, you need not worry about gravity or learn anything about it, unless you want to, because there is the
