EFFICIENT MOVEMENT FORMULA
Key Position(s) + Change of Support = Efficient Movement.
That's it, that's the formula. It's as simple as that. Efficient movement depends on and is affected primarily by the mechanical part of your movement - pure placement of body & limbs or
body positioning. Everything else involved will work at the rate allowed by the quality of your body's positioning.
What does the word "efficient" mean? Let's look at the
online dictionary. It says: performing or functioning in the best possible manner with the least waste of time and effort.
In
Pose Method, there are
key body positions or poses taught for
various sport disciplines.
What does "movement" mean? According to the above mentioned source, movement is "The act or an instance of moving; a change in place or position".
In Pose Method, movement forward (or any direction) is viewed as change of support while maintaining the
key body pose.
While movement or change in place or position can happen in many ways, efficient movement by definition requires precision in order to eliminate unnecessary and taxing movements. Moving from pose to pose by
change of support while using
gravity and other forces makes for a very precise movement that requires less muscular effort & eliminates incorrect muscular effort. Efficiency at it's best.
