POSE COACH/PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIVERSITY INSTRUCTOR RECEIVES A CHUVASH STATE MERIT AWARD

CHEBOKSARY, Russia/ PTPRESS/ --A State Ministry decree for a Merit Award for Pose Coach and Physical Education Instructor Valeri Vasilev was signed on November 26, 2008 by S.A. Gallikov, the Head of Ministry of Sport of Chuvash Republic.
Pose Coach Valeri Vasilev was awarded the prestigious high ranking title for his long standing involvement in development of physical education and culture in the Republic of Chuvashia, successful educational, pedagogical and training efforts in preparation and development of Russian Champions, 2008 Paralympic Team Members, European Championship Prize Winners and members of the Russian National Teams. Training under Coach Vasilev's guidance all aforementioned athletes have achieved various degrees of success and won prizes at various Russian National and International competitions.
V. Vasilev started his coaching and teaching career at a public school #30 in Cheboksary where he started his work in 1990 shortly after graduating from I.Y. Yakovlev Chuvash Pedagogical Institute. From 1998 to 2005 Vasilev worked as a coach/instructor for mentally ill and physically handicapped persons at the Physical Sports Rehabilitation Department of Cheboksary City Rehabilitation Center. The experience and knowledge gathered during those years proved valuable in 2006 when Coach Vasilev became the Director of Children's & Youth Sports Adaptation School for Handicapped.
In 2006 Valeri also became the winner of the Russian National Children's Coach Competition held by a "New Generation" Charity f or athletic programs.
Starting from September 2007 Valeri Ivanovich Vasilev coaches and teaches Track & Field at "SCYSOR" (SPECIALIZED CHILDREN'S & YOUTH SCHOOL of OLYMPIC RESERVE). He specializes in working with young adults with hearing deficiencies and muscular-skeletal dysfunctions. During this short period of time working at "SCYSOR", Pose Coach Vasilev has trained and prepared a number of National and International Champions, prize winners and National Team Members:
- Tatiana Sabakaeva – Silver medalist at the Russian Championship (60m, 200m - Physically Challenged Category)
- Olesa Semenova - Bronze at the Russian National Track and Field Championship (400m, 800m - Physically Challenged Category)
- Ivan Pakin – Winner of the Russian Championship (long jump, Physically Challenged Category)
- Elena Ivanova - Champion of Russia (60m, 200m, 400m, Physically Challenged Category- T-37), 4th place at the Holland Open Championship (100m, 200m)
- Yulia Linevich - Champion of Russia (Javelin Throwing, Physically Challenged Category, 2008 Russian Paralympic Team Member (5th place in Javelin Throwing, 8th place - 100m, Beijing)
- Andrey Andreyev – 2nd, 2008 WORLD DEAF ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS (4x400m), 7th place - 800m.
The Ministry of Sport of Chuvash Republic congratulates Valeri Ivanovich Vasilev with the receipt of this award and wishes him good luck in further developments and achievements.
